also known as The White Tower, or The Tower of the Forty Companions of the Prophet, or (to Christians) as The Tower of the Forty Martyrs.

It served as the minaret of the White Mosque (al-Masjid al-Abyad) which was Constructed by the Mamluk sultan Muhammad ibn Qalun in 1318.
